SSGP is a strategic, national, programme funded and led and funded by the UK Space Agency and delivered in collaboration with the Satellite Applications Catapult. The SSGP team is comprised of members from both the UK Space Agency and Satellite Applications Catapult.

The Satellite Applications Catapult is an independent innovation and technology company, established by Innovate UK (formerly known as the Technology Strategy Board) to foster growth across the economy through the exploitation of space. It helps organisations make use of and benefit from satellite technologies, and brings together multi-disciplinary teams to generate ideas and solutions in an open innovation environment.

The SSGP programme board is chaired by the UK Space Agency and includes representatives from Innovate UK, Cabinet Office, Home Office, MoD, Defra, Met Office, DFID, Go Science, Satellite Applications Catapult, European Space Agency, Natural England, UKSpace, and Tech UK (industry trade bodies).
